This applies to all teams at all levels within our organization and as well as the partner sport clubs under our L.Y.S.A. Organization parent entity.

L.Y.S.A. (Longwood Youth Sports Association) is a 501c3 non for profit. The TAX ID used by LYSA can be revoked for all sports if we were to be in violation of improper fundraising.

The L.Y.S.A. Tax ID is not to be used for any fundraising or purchases without prior approval by the Longwood Soccer Executive Board. Any funds using our TAX ID must go into our Longwood Soccer Club account.

Teams cannot advertise Fundraising on social media without prior knowledge of the Longwood Soccer Club and their approval. Each team belongs to the LYSA Organization under LYSA Soccer.

When teams fundraise and advertise on social media, teams are fundraising as the Longwood Soccer Club and L.Y.S.A. The fundraising has to have a clear specific allocation for the monies raised, such as Tournament Jerseys, Warm ups, soccer bags, specific tournament, etc. It cannot be for the “Team”. Parents must have transparency before fundraising begins on where the money is going to. At no time can funds be used, for anything other than the agreed upon reason without consent.

The Team should be aware of exactly how much was raised and deposited into the account as well as when a purchase is made with the money the team raised. Excess funds should be noted and determined where to be spent as well as need to compensate for shortages by the Coach(es).

Funds raised must be given to the LYSA Soccer (aka Longwood Soccer Club) Treasurer, funds will be earmarked for the specific need and held in escrow for the Team. When funds are requested, a check will be made out to the vendor, company, tournament, etc. Checks will not be made out to Coaches or individuals names without the Longwood Soccer Club Executive Board approval.

There are no “Team Managers” or “Team Moms”, period. Only Coaches and/or Assistant Coaches will be in charge of collecting funds and moving them to the Longwood Soccer Club Treasurer. Coaches run their teams.

When fundraising, parents do not have to participate. Parents can choose to contribute to the best of their financial ability without prejudice from the team. Coaches should be discrete with contributions and only discuss overall money raised, not individual efforts.

Trainer’s fees: Trainer fees should be openly known to the parents on the team at the start of each season. Trainer’s fees should be divided evenly among all players.

Tournament fees: Tourney fees should be openly known to the parents on the team in advance of the Tournament. Fees should be divided evenly among all players.
